Argus, immortalised in the Alan Villiers book Quest of the Schooner Argus, was sold of, again in the s to become a dude sailing cruise ship in the Caribbean.

      I followed the Argus saga for a time and am truly happy that this fine ship will return once again to it's proper home, Portugal. Many members of my family were fishermen on the Argus, as well as the Gazella Primeiro. Allan Villiers book, The Quest Of The Schooner Argus has many photos of my family members, including my : Pascoal. As the schooner Argus, she was featured in National Geographic and was the subject of Allen Villers book, "The Quest of the Schooner Argus". The original ship's bell still hangs on the main deck. Our cruise was to include stops at Guadeloupe, Dominica, Isles des Saintes, Nevis and Falmouth Harbor.

      Originally constructed in , Polynesia was one of the last of the Portuguese Grand Banks Fishing Fleet. As the schooner Argus, she was featured in National Geographic and was the subject of Allen Villers book, "The Quest of the Schooner Argus". Built in , ARGUS was one of the last great Portuguese Grand Banks Fleet. Polynesia was featured in the May edition of National Geographic magazine and in the late maritime writer, Allen Viller’s Book, “The Quest For The Schooner Argus”.
